Brittany Coleman is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. She has a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Development from Texas State University.
Brittany is enthusiastic about working with children, adolescents, and their families. Using a variety of methods, she endeavors to help each client to recognize and utilize their individual strengths in order to facilitate progress and reach their goals. She believes that establishing a genuine relationship with children and families is necessary for them to feel comfortable with counseling. Because children do not possess the communication skills that adults do, she will often use play therapy to allow children to express themselves and communicate at a level that is developmentally appropriate for them.
She has experience working with children, teens, and families from all walks of life and in many different settings. She is currently working in private practice, but has also worked as a counselor for a non-profit organization, domestic violence center, children's shelter, and a transitional living center for young adults.
At the heart of her practice is a love for the Lord, allowing her the privilege of incorporating Christian Counseling into her work. She is amazed to see the work that God does in the lives of her clients, and is honored to be a part of it.
